Accessible

While eight of our homes are barrier-free (two of which are optimized for wheelchair use), we’ve taken care to ensure that every home can be adapted for universal accessibility as-needed. This strategy includes zero-threshold doorways, reinforced stair walls as a future provision for chair lifts, grab bars, roll under counter space, and removable base cabinetry. These features enable residents to adjust their homes to fit their unique needs and support ageing in place.

Sustainable

Energy efficiency has been a top priority throughout our design process, with careful considerations made for our Northern climate. Through a combination of new technologies and simple, passive tools, Project 1096 will have an energy efficiency performance 50% better than required by the National Building Code.

By reducing energy consumption, we aim not only to reduce the effects of climate change, but also to decrease overall operational costs for owners.

Affordable forever

When buying a CLT home, residents agree to price controls that govern the eventual resale value of that home. Rather than fluctuating with the standard housing market, CLT resale prices account for inflation and value-added through renovation or improvements.

This model allows homeowners to build equity in their homes, while preserving affordability for successive buyers.
